At Quorndil, we ensure your photos meet all official requirements, but understanding these guidelines helps you prepare for your photo session.

Wear solid-colored clothing that contrasts with the background. Avoid white tops with white backgrounds. For professional documents, business or smart casual attire is recommended.
Style your hair away from your face. Minimal makeup is best, as some document types restrict altered appearance. Remove facial piercings if possible, especially for government documents.
Schedule your photo session when you're well-rested. Avoid rushing to your appointment. Plan for about 15-30 minutes total time at our studio for the full service.
Bring the application or specific requirements for your document if available. This helps us ensure your photos meet the exact specifications needed for your particular case.
It depends on the document type. For US passports, a natural smile is acceptable, but many countries and document types (especially visas and green cards) require a neutral expression with closed mouth and no smile.
For US passports and most government IDs, glasses are no longer allowed unless medically necessary (with a doctor's note). If glasses are medically necessary, they must not reflect light or obscure your eyes.
Religious headwear is permitted for most document photos as long as your full face is visible from bottom of chin to top of forehead, and there are no shadows on your face. Some applications may require a signed statement verifying the headwear is for religious purposes.
Sometimes, but not always. Different documents have different requirements for size, background, expression, and recency. We recommend getting specific photos for each document type to ensure acceptance, but we can advise on possible reuse during your session.
Most documents require photos taken within the last 6 months. Some visas require photos taken within the last 30 days. We always recommend getting a new photo if you're unsure, especially if your appearance has changed (weight, hair, facial hair, etc.).
